Big Morin Khuur to be shown in Ulaanbaatar

The 5.9-meter-tall Morin Khuur made by Ch.Enkh-Otgon and his son before the Naadam celebration will be on display in Ulaanbaatar in August. It took them nine months and needs four people to lift it. However, it cannot be used to produce music.

Mongolia becomes member of UN Commission

The UN Economic Social Council last week decided to include Mongolia as a member of the UN Statistical Commission. This is the first time Mongolia is joining the 24-member international body. It will have seven other new members this year – the USA, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Niger, Tanzania, Cuba and Oman.
Ambassador to UN O.Enkhtsetseg, Chief of the National Statistics Committee S.Mendsaikhan, and its Deputy Chief G.Gerelt-Od attended the meeting of the Council which chose the new members.

Tuul River Is Now Under Protection

An announcement from Ministry of Nature, Environment, and Tourism, the ministry has started to protect "Tuul" river. After many years, the ministry has moved to save the river. The river is in danger, it could disappear soon or later because there are many private sectors and industries are polluting the river by using varieties chemicals and wrong way of using the water. In order to keep the river, the ministry has organized special draft plan to keep the river. In few words about Tuul river to someone who does not know about it, the Tuul is runs through the capital city - Ulaanbatar and beautifully located alongside of the Bogd Khan mountain.

New Development Step Meeting of Tourism will be held in Dornod aimag(province)

The Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism, Mongolian National Tourism Center, the Governor’s Office of Dornod aimag and the Association of Teachers and Researchers of Tourism are jointly organizing a three-day meeting on tourism with neighbors in Choibalsan of Dornod aimag to start on April 27. The Deputy Chief of the Tourism Board, P.Naranbayar, and a teacher of tourism, U.Amgalan, today told journalists that the meeting will discuss the present situation of tourism in the Eastern region and its development, and Mongolian, Russian and Chinese tourist companies will hold an exhibition.

President of Mongolia has met with process of celebrating historical events of this year

This year, Mongolia will celebrate 2220 year of Mongolian New Regime, Foundation of 805 year Great Mongolia by Chinggis Khaan, 100 year Revolution for Freedom as Re-Founded Independence of Mongolian National, 90 year of People's Revolution, and 50 year of Mongolia has involved to UNDP.

President of Mongolia, Ts. Elbegdorj has met with relating staffs who will be in charge of organizing those above historical events. The President has discussed and wished to organize successfully.
