Description: This trip may offer you great opportunity to challenge yourself with Snow Caped Tsengel Khairkhan Mountain (3996m) and Tsambagarav Mountain (4208m). Which are one of the highest peaks of the High Altai mountain range and experience culture of the ethnic groups in the western Mongolia. The permanently Tsambagarav Mountain straddles the border between Khovd and Bayan-Ulgii provinces and is accessible from either side. It is stands of altitude of 4208m, the summit is relatively accessible and easy to climb compared with Tavan Bogd, but you’ll need crampons and ropes.
Itinerary
| Day 1 |
Arrive at Chinggis khaan international airport and meet our guide. Hotel transfer*(The check in and out time is 12.00 in the noon and early check in not guaranteed) and relax in the morning. After lunch short sightseeing which, including Sukhbaatar square –Chinggis Khan Monument, National History Museum, Traditional Folklore concert. Overnight at hotel. |
| Day 2 |
Early morning transfer to airport and take a flight to Ulgii town the center of Bayan-Ulgii province. Visit local market and have lunch. Drive to Sagsai River through Sagsai village. Relax in the shore of the Sagsai River. We are driving for 110 km. Overnight at tent. |
| Day 3 |
Drive to Tsengel Khairkhan Mount. There are many Kazakh, Uriankhai family. You will visit Kazakh family who has hunting eagle in order to see their lifestyle and culture. Set up base camp and overnight at tent |
| Day 4 |
Climb to Tsengel Khairkhan snow peak at 3996 meters above sea level for 8-10 hours. Return to base camp and overnight at tent. |
| Day 5 |
Drive to the Ulgii town where Kazakh ethnic minority of Mongolian lives. Arrive in the town afternoon. Relax in the local hotel. Overnight local hotel. |
| Day 6 |
Drive to Tsambagarav Mountain for 100 km on dust road. Arrive in Tsambagarav Mount and set up base camp. Overnight at tent |
| Day 7 |
Start climbing to Tsambagarav Mount peak. Tsambagarav Mount is a one of the highest snow caped peaks of the Altai Mountain Range. That stands 4208 meters above sea level. We are climb for 6 hours and set up attack camp at 3800 meters high. Overnight at tent |
| Day 8 |
Early in the morning start climbing in order to see morning sun rising from the top of the Tsambagarav Mount peak up to 400 m with snow and ice. Return to base camp. Overnight at tent. |
| Day 9 |
Today relax and short trekking to the Tsast Mountain. Overnight at tent |
| Day 10 |
Visit to Uriankhai Nomad family. You can explore their traditional, daily lifestyle and culture. Overnight at tent. |
| Day 11 |
Drive to Khovd town the center of Khovd province. Visit Provincial Museum. A unique exhibit in the museum is a reconstruction of the paintings in the Paleolithic grotto of Tsenkher cave. Transfer to GER camp. Overnight at GER. |
| Day 12 |
Take a flight to Ulaanbaatar, In the capital city you will visit Natural History Museum and do shopping. Overnight at hotel |
| Day 13 |
Drive to Terelj National Park. Short stop on Terelj Ovoo or known as shamanist sacred stones. Continues to cave, Turtle Rock and Aryabal meditation temple. Lunch at tourist camp. Short hike to the mountain see picturesque scenery of National Park. Overnight at GER camp |
| Day 14 |
Morning short horse riding and return to Ulaanbaatar. Visit Gandan temple, Natural history museum, Zaisan Hill, Bogd Khaan Palace Museum and shopping center. Overnight at the hotel. |
| Day 15 |
Check out hotel and transfer to airport for departure. End of the tour. |
