1. Baga Gazariin Chuluu

Baga Gazariin Chuluu is very popular by the secret caves and granite rock formation which is about 60km in northwest from Mandalgobi town. The rock formation is located in 1,751m above from the sea level.

2. Tsagaan Suvarga

Tsagaan Suvarga is name of white limestone rock and its height is about 30m tall and shaped strangely because of wind and water erosion. According to research, in 2000, there was a symbol carved on a rock found which possibly from back 5,000 years of the Bronze Age.

3. Yoliin Am

Yoliin Am is beautiful narrow canyon of vulture. There are many an exotic view of the desert with boundless view of horizons, rare species of mammals and plants. Also, the Yoliin Am is well known as Eagle valley that located in Three Beauties of Gobi (Gobi Gurvan Saikhan) national park.

4. Khongor Sand Dunes

Khongor Sand Dunes make soft melodic sound, has extraordinary length of 100km, 15-20km wide, and height about 200m. So, it is named the sound of the Singing Dune that is produced by the masses of moving sand and can be heard from afar.

5. Bayanzag - Flaming Cliffs

Bayanzag is an important site for both archeological and paleontological findings. Complete dinosaur skeletons and eggs are excavated from red cliffs which look like a fire. The fossil eggs’ width sizes 10-15cm were found in Bayanzag at first time in the world.

6. Ongi Temple Ruin

Ongi Temple Ruin was built in 18th century, and it was the main religious center of South Mongolia. The lamas (monks) were practicing Buddhist philosophy, astrology and medicine. However, after people’s revolution in 1921, the temples were destroyed and the lamas were murdered.

7. Kharkhorum

Kharkhorum was an ancient capital of Mongolian Great Empire in 13th century. There is Buddhist first monastery in the country called Erdenezuu that was built in 1586 and was sacked during the purges in 1937. Only walls and 3 temples remain. Also, there is Boovon had–men’s secret statue which is stone of men’s penis and made by monks of temples in 18 century for reason to shame of young monks who do not follow rules)

8. Khustai National Park

Khustai National Park is famous by wild horse or known as Przewalski horse (Takhi) and has protected since 1993 to conserve biodiversity and facilitate re-introduction of the Takhi to their homeland after 40 years of extinction number of them have reached over 170. The Takhi is the ancestor parent of the Mongol horse and live in the nature, can survive by themselves, and their behavior are different from regular horse.

9. Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park has many gigantic granite rock formations where the beautiful nature welcomes everyone to have horse riding and hiking. In addition, there is one of famous formation is named Turtle Rock (Melkhii Khad) which was created only by rain and wind. And, there is Aryapala meditation temple where is located at hill.

10. Gun Galuut National Park

Gun Galuut National Park is located near Kherlen River which is one of the biggest rivers in Mongolia. There is a mountain called Baits Mountain where probably we can see some wild sheep (Argali). Also we can explore the area looking for rare birds.

11. Amarbayasgalant Monastery

Amarbayasgalant Monastery was built in 16th century by Manchurians dedicated to Zanbazar first Bogd Khaan of Mongolia. The ‘Monastery of Tranquil Felicity’, one of the three largest Buddhist centers in Mongolia. It is one of the very few monasteries to have partly escaped the destruction of 1937.

12. Uran Togoo

Uran Togoo is one of the oldest volcanoes in Mongolia. The Uran-Togoo and Tulga Uul Natural Monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan Province of Mongolia. This mountain ranks as 4th highest mountain in Bulgan province. It is located about 60 km directly west of Bulgan city around the extinct volcanoes Uran Togoo, Tulga Togoo, and Jalavch Uul. Uran Uul is a pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul

13. Khuvsgul Lake

Khuvsgul Lake is dubbed as Mongolia Switzerland and a lake surrounded with green forest mountains. It is the second largest lake, in the Central Asia, which contains 1% of fresh water resource of the world. The length of the lake is 134km and width is 39km, although 46 rivers flow into the lake and Eg river is the only one flowing out it

14. Zuun Lake

Zuun Lake is a beautiful little lake. It is located 2300 meters above sea level. It is very nice place to walk and to explore, also great place for bird watchers. Also near the area, you can visit nomadic families to experience their unique lifestyle.

15. Khorgo Terkh National Park

Khorgo Terkh National Park was named by Khorgiin Togoo (Shelter pan) which is formed by volcanic eruption. The Shelter`s pan is 200m wide and 100m deep. Its location is on the east shore of Terkh White Lake (Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur). The lake is situated over 2000m above from sea level and its size is 4km wide, 16km long and 20m deep.

16. Tsenkher Hot Spring

Tsenkher Hot Spring is sulphur spring that emerges from the ground at 85 Celsius degree. It is located on 1860m above from sea level. It is rich with different stones of Mesozoic in the spring and you can see chalk, white stones, boulder flint and kidney stones. And, many people come to under traditional medical treatment.

17. Otgontenger Mountain

Otgontenger Mountain is the highest peak in the Khangai Mountain Ranges in Mongolia. Its summit is currently calculated to reach an elevation of 4021 meters above sea level. The mountain is located in Zavkhan Province and is the only peak in the Khangai range that is capped with a permanent glacier. The south face of Mount Otgontenger is the most extensive granite wall in Mongolia.

18. Bayan Lake

Bayan Lake is a beautiful freshwater lake in Zavkhan province which is located in north side of Bor Khyariin Sand Dunes. Bor Khyariin sand dunes are one of the biggest and longest sand dunes in Mongolia. It continues around 180 kms.

19. Khar Lake

Khar Lake is a beautiful freshwater lake which is located in south side of Bor Khyariin Sand Dunes. The lake is surrounded by sand dunes and high mountains. Here offers you to enjoy different types of landscapes and also if you are lucky, you can see the nomadic family immigration. Still they are conserving to move by camels. It is our ancient method of immigration.

20. Tsetsee Gun Peak

Tsetsee Gun Peak is 2256 meters above sea level, the highest peak of Bogd Khan Mountains which are located southern side of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Bogd Khan Mountains are end of the Khentii Mountain Ranges. Bogd Khan Mountains are the Strictly Protected Area.

21. Onon River/Balj River,

Onon River/Balj River, the upper Onon River is one of the areas that are claimed to be the place where Chinggis Khaan was born and grew up. The river is one of the biggest rivers abundant with fishes. It begins from Khan Khentii Mountain range and flows 800km on Mongolian territories and flows into Shilka River, one of the biggest rivers in Eurasia. Also, the Balj River is popular by Taimen.

22. Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes

Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes are situated in a terrain of Uvurkhangai, Bulgan and Tuv provinces, stretching west side of Mount Khugnu Khan from west of Mount Batkhaan. The main road separates the sand dune into two parts, Mongol Els on the south and Khugnu Tarnyn Els on the north. Elsen Tasarkhai is surrounded by Mount Khugnu Khan on the north and Mount Ikh Mongol on the south.

23. Orkhon Waterfall

Orkhon Waterfall is 24m high in the volcanic landscape. The black volcanic rocks that carpet the landscape exploded 20-30 thousand years ago. It is situated on connection between of Ulaan Tsutgalan which is local name of the waterfall, and the Orkhon River which is the longest river in Mongolia with length of 1120km.

24. Eight Lakes

Eight Lakes The area of Naiman Nuur (Eight Lakes), which was created by volcanic eruptions centuries ago and 3,163 metres above sea level Khuisiin Naiman Nuur (Navel Eight Lakes) is located on over 2,400 metre above sea level. The lakes are named Shireet, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Khuis, Onon, Doroo and Bayan-Uul.

25. Naadam Festival

Naadam Festival is a traditional type of festival in Mongolia. The festival is also locally named "Eriin Gurvan Naadam" (“the three games of men”). The games are Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery and are held throughout the country between on 11th July and 12th July.

26. Golden Eagle Festival

Golden Eagle Festival holds in first weekend of October of each year in Bayan-Ulgii province where Kazakh people, minority of ethnic groups live. Main event of the festival is hunting with eagles, and this tradition has existed for almost 2000 years. During festival, folks bring over 80 trained eagles to competition and their traditional Kazakh dress, their eagles’ equipments, ornaments.

27. Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain

Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain is located in Altai range; thus, it is named the Altai Tavan Bogd, was protected site in 1996, which Tavan Bogd translates to five saints. As "Khuiten" (4374m) and “Malchin” (4027m) peaks are regularly climbed. And "Khuiten" is Mongolian highest peak which marks intersection of Russian, Chinese and Mongolian borders. There is the Potanin Glacier which is Mongolia's longest glacier and stretches 25km.

28. Dayan Lake/Khoton Lake/khurgan Lake

Dayan Lake/Khoton Lake/khurgan Lake is moraine lakes fed by small rivers and snowmelt. A very popular statue known as Dayan the Pious stands near its shore and behind it is remains of the foundations of three square tombs. Great place to trek in beautiful scenery, fresh water, and snow peaked mountain. And they are located in Bayan-Ulgii province and connected by stream.
